One of the best bike mechanics I know put the finishing touches on my little speed demon yesterday and holy crap does it look good! The whole idea of a TT position is going to take a little getting use to. I took a light spin on it tonight on our indoor trainer. Everything felt pretty good, very different from what I’m use to, but good.
The only other time I’ve ridden in a TT style was on my ZW road bike. I just used the little jammer bars so it didn’t feel much different then normal. On this bike, as Jake pointed out, I felt the work in the front of my legs rather then in the back. (which was obvious in the first 10 minutes of spinning) So even though I am feeling sick today it was still exciting to hop on the bike - even if it was only for a little while.
As far as the fit goes everything seems OK. I know it’s kind of early to tell and I’ll get a better idea when I take it out on the road. The one thing I did have a problem with is my hair!! Now that my it’s half way down my back it puts too much strain on my neck to wear it up - pair that with the hunched over TT position and I can’t hang. I can’t imagine wearing it down since the room gets africa hot while Im spinning. I guess it’ll take some trial and error to figure out the best solution.
Once I get my saddle dialed in and some pedals for it I’ll take some nicer pictures of it. Till then - g’night!
